I found 5 new stands of aspen yesterday on the road between Bridge of Gaur and Rannoch Station, at the western end of Loch Rannoch. Some of them, like the one on the left here, were very big mature trees. A couple of them had produced fresh suckering that had become established. The record below is the most westerly in Highland Perthshire.
If aspen can grow out here, it can grow anywhere!!!
