These two photos were submitted by Simon Jones, gardens manager at the RZSS in Edinburgh who are helping propogate aspen cuttings for us. The site is up at the Highland Wildlife Park near Kincraig, and both areas have been fenced in recent years. Rabbits are a particular issue up here, and as can be seen, aspen suckers can make rapid growth if they can get half a chance to get away. The above tree was felled to provide some suitable deadwood for the aspen hoverfly.
